Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Support both new development and manufacturing efforts in mechanical design and implementations.<img style="float: right;" src="https://hydroid.icims.com/icims2/servlet/icims2?module=AppInert&action=download&id=4464&hashed=-2014595103" alt="Hydroid-Cutrona-0483" width="337" height="225" />
  • Demonstrate proficiency in material selection for underwater applications with corrosion considerations, structural analysis (finite element desired), electronic packing, CAD and solid work modeling (Solidworks).
  • Communicate designs and issues to each corresponding department.
  • Research, develop, plan designs mechanical and electromechanical products for underwater applications.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
  • Support both Sales and Marketing Departments with engineering special quotes.
  • Provide documentation for manufacturing support and design.
  • Estimate labor and cost of materials for designs and applications.
  • Build prototypes and tests fixtures for new design or to update existing designs and products.
  • Perform project management duties as assigned.
  • Travel to offsite locations as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering with two-five years of related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience using 3D modeling tools.  Manufacturing experience with autonomous underwater vehicles preferred.
