The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing daily payable activities related to the company's guidelines. This individual will have direct communication and interaction with the company's manufacturing and purchasing teams and external vendors.


  • Accurately process all manufacturing and purchasing invoices in a timely manner
    • Match purchase orders confirming prices and quantity to vendor invoices
    • Verify receipt of material or service
    • Enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding, and matching
    • Ensure purchasing costs are correctly recorded
    • Monitor the status of invoices with discrepancies
    • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
    • Process payments (checks, wires, credit cards)
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial data
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform Accounts Payable reconciliations
  • Maintain payables aging and reconcile received not paid account
  • Support the accounts payable accrual calculation
  • Assist in month end closing activities
  • Prioritize workload in order to meet established deadlines
  • Work closely with the Purchasing department
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Foster good teamwork and interpersonal relationships
  • Willing to participate in any capacity to support the Finance function
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 2-4 years’ previous experience in an Accounts Payable environment
  • Proven computer skills; proficient in Excel; experience with ERP systems a must
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desired
  • Strong coordination, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills are required. Individual should be comfortable working with all levels and functions.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, have the ability to meet deadlines, and be proactive in supporting the functional partners.
  • Knowledge of the functions and capabilities of computer hardware and peripheral equipment, experience with Enterprise system software; strong Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Costpoint experience a plus.
  • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast paced environment; with a high attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude.


A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) and potentially classified information.
