    Responsibilities

    Primary systems test engineer for the MK18 class of REMUS vehicles with broad systems engineering experience and understanding of the interdependencies between the complex mechanical, electrical and software systems. Full life cycle support beginning with initial customer proposal, definition and management of requirements, test planning and coordination, through to final acceptance testing, analysis and reporting.

    • Develop, manage and verify system and sub-system requirements using industry standards including System Requirements Verification Matrices.
    • Develop and implement test plans and procedures to support the systems engineering and production process including test reports and other tracking documentation.
    • Perform duties as Test Director for projects including travel and work at off-site locations when required. This may also include working at sea.
    • Works with customer to resolve questions that arise during system testing through formal Root Cause Analysis and subsequent testing. Assists Program/Project Manager and Systems Engineer in tracking all test issues/deficiencies to closure, including traceability to system requirements.
    • Communicates designs and issues to each corresponding department.
    • Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of products and systems.
    • Supports Sales and Marketing Departments with engineering quotes.
    • Provides documentation support for quality, manufacturing, test and training.
    • Estimates labor and cost of materials for designs and applications.
    • 20/25% Work/travel aboard offshore vessels as required.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering; and 5-10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience using 3D solid modeling and/or circuit design tools.
    • Experience using Matlab.
    • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electro-mechanical and sensor systems including digital timing circuits.
    • Manufacturing and operating experience with autonomous underwater vehicles, robotics, sonar, oceanographic and undersea systems preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Solidworks; Enterprise PDM; JIRA; VISIO and Deltek.
    • Experience with requirements driven design tools such as Magic Draw, IBM Rhapsody and DOORS.
    • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast paced environment; with a high attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude.

     

    A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) and potentially classified information.
