    Reporting to the President, the Director, Human Resources is primarily responsible for the execution of the HR Strategy to position the company as a World Class Employer.  Partnering with the Senior Leaders in support of strategic business objectives, advises and coaches leaders in all elements of the people management process. Develop and deliver integrated HR solutions, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, talent development and legal compliance. Ensure sustained healthy retention by enabling an environment that’s engaging, where motivated people want to learn and advance by collaborating, being innovative and are determined to perform at their best.


    • Partner with senior management to identify and address the critical needs of the overall business and toward achieving the five year STP and HR strategy.
    • Support the development and execution of each department’s strategy by providing HR perspective, advice/counsel, problem solving to our managers and supervisors functioning as a key member of management team. Drive operational excellence, initiatives, processes and practices.
    • Drive and manage a talent acquisition strategy that supports the best qualified candidate for Hydroid and integrates a succession planning methodology for key contributor and management positions.
    • Consult with managers on organizational effectiveness, employee performance and development, and employee relations. Help managers to develop models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps.
    • Lead the development of HR measures and metrics that track progress towards goal achievement and provides meaningful data.
    • Develop and manage a market competitive compensation strategy to ensure talent attraction and retention while managing costs.
    • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating policies and procedures, communicating and enforcing company values.
    • Manage the Human Resources budget and other key metrics.
    • Manage a dynamic team of HR professionals providing day-to-day support and strategic guidance.
    • Direct the administration and communication to employees of various benefit programs including medical and dental insurance, paid time off policies, and disability coverage. Ensure benefit plans are competitive and renewals are timely and cost effective.

    • BS/BA degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline. Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
    • Thorough knowledge of human resource management practices and employment related legislation.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work in a highly complex, fast paced, matrixed work environment.
    • Display a highly collaborative style; and have demonstrated skill and comfort in building relationships with senior level and executive management, peers and employees at all levels.
    • Demonstrate personal characteristics including high energy, commitment to excellence, strong leadership and a continued focus on developing future leaders.
    • Track record of absolute integrity and a dedicated work ethic.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Highly analytical with proven problem solving skills.
    • Customer oriented, able to easily create effective professional relationships.
    • Proven ability to work effectively on a team, especially in a matrix environment.
    • Proven leadership abilities to motivate, coach, and develop others.
    • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast paced environment; with a high attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude.


    A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) and potentially classified information.
