  • Overview

     

    Kongsberg Underwater Technology Inc. (KUTI) supports the U.S. government, leading research institutions and commercial survey companies with turnkey marine technology solutions and technical services.  We develop, manufacture, market and support the Seaglider® AUV system from our Lynnwood, WA facility in close cooperation with the original developer, the University of Washington.  KUTI is a fully owned subsidiary of Hydroid, Inc. Both KUTI and Hydroid remain part of the Kongsberg group of companies.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Performs mechanical and electrical assembly, inspection, and test processes as documented on drawings, schematics, parts lists, and work instructions, in accordance with the following duties.

     

    • Ability to solder wires and terminals as required
    • Ability to fabricate cables and harnesses from wiring diagrams using hand crimp tools as required.
    • Maintains work station in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Maintains quality control on manufactured products and properly logs serial numbers and other data as required
    • Notifies appropriate personnel of damaged supplies or equipment that is out of tolerance and follows Non-conforming material process as necessary.
    • Maintains the ability to fabricate assemblies from work instructions, blue prints, parts lists, and wiring diagrams.
    • Performs inspection of all assembly and sub-assemblies as required.
    • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently to provided specifications and drawings
    • Pays close attention to safety procedures as defined by company.
    • Understands the concepts of lean manufacturing.
    • Packs and labels equipment cases per packing lists and work instructions for shipment to customers.
    • Learn operation of company MRP and data systems with proper training
    • Supports all manufacturing departments.
    • Willing and able to work overtime given proper notice
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
    • Soldering Certification to IPC J-STD is a plus
    • Basic computer navigation skills to access and save files to specific folders as required
    • Good working knowledge of common computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer
    • Experience with MRP systems such as Visual or Deltek is a plus
    • Working knowledge of serial communications

     

    A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) and potentially classified information.
