    Responsibilities

     

    Provides product and sustainment support by performing standard engineering assignments.  Product support engineers also strive to improve and document product development by getting involved in the product life cycle and passing on lessons learned to Engineering and other departments.

     

    • Perform engineering functions such as research, design, testing, and create/release new designs
    • Processing issues, change requests and change notices
    • Demonstrates proficiency in material selection for corrosive applications with dissimilar considerations, structural analysis (finite element desired), electronic packaging, CAD modeling (SolidWorks).
    • Identify product problems, conduct root cause analysis to determine corrective action and validation.
    • Identify process inefficiencies and suggesting and implementing process improvements using lean processes
    • Develop required design changes to resolve operational issues
    • Review system drawings, schematics, and documentation for form fit function and interface alternatives.
    • Root cause analysis of in-service problems
    • Support research, development and plan designs of mechanical and electromechanical products for surface and subservice applications.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience using 3D modeling tools.
    • Lean Manufacturing/Engineering experience with autonomous underwater vehicles preferred.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Office; Microsoft Excel; MAS 200; SolidWorks; Enterprise PDM and Internet Explorer.
    • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast-paced environment; with a high attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude.

     

    A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) and potentially classified information.
